As a 30-year-old, family-owned brand, Teeccino’s herbal coffees and teas provide a rich, bold, coffee-like taste without the caffeine or acid associated with regular coffee. The brand’s products are popular with a wide range of consumers looking for healthier, delicious alternatives to traditional coffee.

We had the opportunity to speak with Chris Linzey, National Sales Manager at Teeccino, about his experience working with Social Nature and how it has supported their retail strategy.

What challenges was Teeccino facing before Social Nature, and how did our platform help?

Chris: We wanted to explore marketing beyond the regular distributor and retailer programs to support our retailers, increase brand awareness and improve velocity. We also wanted more customers to sample our products. We have online data that shows we have a high repeat purchase rate, so sampling translates into new customers at a high rate for us.

How did Social Nature help Teeccino achieve positive retail results?

Chris: Kroger was the initial objective for us with Social Nature. We were a new brand there, and outside of TPRs (temporary price reductions), we couldn’t promote our newly placed products within the Kroger programs. Social Nature gave us a way to create immediate sales since items sampled through the program show as scan sales. We were also able to sample Kroger customers at the same time. The flexibility of the Social Nature program allowed us to pivot and use some of our activations at Sprouts as well to provide some extra movement outside of our regular promo cycle there.

What were some of the key insights you gained from working with the Social Nature community?

Chris: We found the survey questions to be very enlightening. The post-trial reviews were more complete than expected and confirmed many of the assumptions we had about our brand, while also highlighting some new opportunities.

How does Social Nature stand out from other shopper marketing platforms you've used?

Chris: We haven’t tried the other platforms, but we selected Social Nature after interviewing other programs. We decided that Social Nature gave us the most user-friendly and complete program to accomplish our objectives.

If you had to choose one thing, what would you say was the biggest impact of working with Social Nature?

Chris: We have used the survey results in presentations to potential new retailers and have offered the Social Nature program as a kickoff for new distribution. Social Nature is another marketing program we can discuss and offer to retailers.

What was your experience like working with the Social Nature team?

Chris: We love the team. They are always available, knowledgeable and have suggestions to take advantage of opportunities and get the most out of the program.
